Ms. Hailey Webb studies carbon fluxes in Alaska and greenhouse gas emissions from thawing permafrost as a result of warming temperatures. In her role, Ms. Webb processes and analyzes large geospatial datasets and works to improve carbon model algorithms. In 2020, Ms. Webb received her B.S. in Environmental Science – Geospatial and Environmental Analysis from Montana State University. As an undergraduate, Ms. Webb traveled to northern Alaska and visited an active thermokarst feature; she watched as what was once permanently frozen ground collapse in on itself, and was overcome with emotion. Witnessing climate change first-hand is what inspired her to learn more about northern ecosystems so that she could be part of the climate solution. In her free time, Ms. Webb loves to hike, camp, kayak, and ski.
