In the role of Senior Philanthropic Adviser, Melissa Poueymirou cultivates philanthropic support for Woodwell Climate’s renowned climate science research. By attracting financial support and aligning philanthropic investments with Woodwell’s most strategic priorities, she advances our mission of providing world-class research that informs climate action strategies and policy. Her work is motivated by the belief that fostering world-class research and science is the key to addressing and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
Poueymirou holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature and has worked in the field of higher education for over 20 years. She has cultivated broad expertise developing relationships and partnerships across the public, private and nonprofit sectors. She has also participated in four major capital campaigns with demonstrated success in setting and meeting philanthropic targets within complex institutional settings.
