Matthew Jacques assists in preparing and measuring soil samples for multiple projects in the Soil Carbon Lab. One of the main goals of this work is to make estimating the properties of soils less expensive and more accessible, facilitating more routine measurement of soils for applications including soil carbon and soil health monitoring.
Jacques earned his bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology and Aquaculture at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he worked on varied marine projects from plankton cultures, to squid and eel physiology. In his spare time, Jacques enjoys fishing, gardening, and hiking with his wife and dog.
