Along with other Woodwell Climate researchers, I am collecting soil samples and forest biomass data in the field in an effort to create detailed carbon sequestration maps of the Berkshire plateau.
Before joining Woodwell Climate, I worked in remnant native grassland and forest management for the National Park Service. I spent several years before that as a professional certified arborist and tree nursery caretaker. Outside of my current position, I am a Type II wildland firefighter. I primarily work in the Albany Pine Bush Preserve, doing fire adapted forest and shrubland prescribed burns and prep. My degree is in environmental science, ecology, and ecosystems. In the future, I would like to pursue a career in the field of forest ecology or fire conservation management.
Outside of work, I am an avid artist. I specifically love to work with wood and watercolors. I also enjoy being outdoors, especially in the mountains, in the woods, or on the water.
