I am studying the South Taconic Plateau in Massachusetts, creating a carbon inventory to determine how much carbon is stored in the landscape. My work contributes to our understanding of where there are effective carbon sinks, which is critical to addressing the climate crisis.

I have a passion for preserving natural environments and addressing the impacts of climate change. In past roles, I have done a wide variety of fieldwork focused on forest pests and pathogens and species richness. I also have spent many years doing lab work to analyze the physical, biological, and isotopic properties of sediment samples. In the future, I would like to continue my career in scientific research, with a focus on both field data collection and data analysis. I’m especially passionate about working in forested environments and hope to pursue a path that allows me to take a broad, ecosystem level approach to understanding and managing the landscape.

Outside of work, I enjoy skiing, birding, and hiking.
