I am a scientist turned storyteller, passionate about bridging the gap between science and society and motivating urgently-needed climate action. I am host and executive producer of Woodwell’s first podcast, Not a Climate Scientist, which features everyday Americans grappling with climate change in their daily lives and work — and finding ways we can all be part of the solution. I previously led Woodwell Climate Research Center’s Communications activities, bringing the rich stories of Woodwell Climate scientists to diverse public audiences.

I came to Woodwell Climate from WGBH, where I founded and hosted a weekly science-focused radio show, Living Lab Radio. Previously, I wrote the Climatide blog about coastal communities facing climate change. My reporting on science and the environment has appeared in outlets ranging from Cape Cod Times and Commercial Fishery News to NPR’s Morning Edition, The Takeaway, and PBS NewsHour. In 2014, I was recognized for the breadth of my work with WGBH’s Margret and Hans Rey/Curious George Producer award.

I fell in love with the ocean as a child, and pursued a career in marine research before turning my energies to science communication. I serve on the Woods Hole Sea Grant Marine Outreach Guidance Group and Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative Board, and I frequently teach or mentor students in communication skills.
