I work with the COMBB project, a water quality monitoring effort that focuses on deploying a network of sensors in Buzzards Bay to continuously measure dissolved oxygen, temperature, and other characteristics of the bay. COMBB also studies how to best use the large datasets generated by continuous water monitoring, and how to effectively integrate them with community volunteer water monitoring programs.
I’m excited to be working on a project that offers crucial insights to help local and state governments maintain adequate water quality in a changing world. I have a love for the outdoors and the ocean, and a passion for biology and applied ecology. In the future, I would like to pursue a career in applied aquatic ecology that would allow me to engage with local communities through public outreach and education.
I am originally from Southern California, currently attending the University of Alabama, and I love cycling, working on my bike, and reading.
