I work with the Evolving Metaecosystems (EVOME) Institute on the willow genetics team. Our research aims to improve our understanding of the proliferation of shrubs in the Arctic, and how that affects birds, bugs, fish, and streams under a changing climate.

I am glad to be working with EVOME as it allows me to combine my passions of Arctic conservation and working with plants. Previously, I have been a greenhouse worker, an undergraduate assistant doing dendrochronology research, a conservation trail crew member, and a backcountry canoe and backpacking guide. In the future, I hope to pursue a PhD and research at the intersection of Arctic biology, genetics, and geology.

I grew up canoeing lakes and rivers in Minnesota and Canada, which instilled a deep passion, curiosity, and urgency in me to protect these wild places.
