Woodwell Climate Conversations is a monthly event series designed to engage our community and foster meaningful discussion about climate change and its impacts.
This series provides a platform for both in-person and virtual discussions, workshops, and presentations.
Join us each month as we bring together experts, thought leaders, and community members to explore the latest climate science, the work being done at Woodwell Climate Research Center, and the steps we can all take toward a sustainable future.
Each event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 5:00pm, events start at 6:00pm in the Harbourton Auditorium.
Select lectures will be available both in-person and virtually, with recordings available on the Woodwell Climate website at a later date.
Mapping the Arctic, Charting the Future: Climate Science in a Changing World
On Wednesday, August 27, Woodwell Climate’s Senior Scientist Dr. Sue Natali and Senior Geospatial Analyst Greg Fiske will share how the Permafrost Pathways project is advancing permafrost research, supporting GIS capacity-building, and helping Arctic Indigenous communities plan for climate adaptation. They’ll reveal how maps are being used to communicate science, show environmental change, and center Indigenous Knowledge and expertise. This event will be offered both in person and virtually—learn more and register.
