Woodwell Climate is one of the world’s leading climate science research institutions. As Woodwell deepens its work with the private sector on climate risk and adaptation, we are launching the Climate Risk Business Fellows program to build sustained relationships with practitioners who sit at the intersection of climate and business.
The program will bring together a selective cohort of 10-15 mid-career professionals working in finance, insurance, industry and consulting. Fellows gain direct access to Woodwell’s science and scientific staff. In return, they provide guidance and engagement on how Woodwell can best serve private sector partners and help extend the reach of our research.
Woodwell Climate Research Center has a team of over 50 PhD scientists, including some of the world’s leading experts in climate risk modeling and physical risk assessment. We are looking for private sector professionals whose work puts them on the receiving end of that science: people managing investment portfolios that need to accurately price physical risk, underwriting catastrophe exposure, or running climate resilience within a business.
The ideal Fellow has influence over how their organization thinks about climate risk and is close enough to the work that access to Woodwell’s science would support what they do in practice.
Fellows commit to a one-year term beginning in late September during New York Climate Week. The ask of fellows is the following level of engagement:
