Aniket Shah has spent his career at the intersection of global finance, economic development, and climate change.
As the Founder, Managing Director and Global Head of Sustainability, Transition and Washington Strategy at Jefferies, Shah leads a research and advisory effort for investors, corporates, and sovereigns on their energy transition and sustainable business efforts and advises clients on the interface between public policy and investment decision-making.
Shah is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. He previously held prominent roles at UBS, OppenheimerFunds, and Investec Asset Management, and in the public sector at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and the Earth Institute at Columbia University.
From 2022-2024, Shah’s team was ranked #1 in the Institutional Investor Survey and Asiamoney Brokers Poll for Sustainability research in the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Australia.
Shah serves on the Board of Directors of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and was previously Chairman of the Board of Amnesty International USA. He is a Full Member of the Economic Club of New York and the Bretton Woods Committee.
Shah received a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University and Ph.D. in Economic Geography from the University of Oxford.
