My work is part of Woodwell Climate’s collaboration with the Buzzards Bay Coalition on their Water Quality Monitoring Program. I process and analyze water samples that are collected by Baywatchers—volunteer community scientists. I also coordinate the maintenance of a long-term data set that uses the Baywatchers’ samples to track nutrients and water quality in Buzzards Bay.

I am interested in monitoring changes in climate and the environment to try and improve communities and the environment itself. The Water Quality Monitoring Program is a good example of how studying the local impact of environmental changes can get community members involved in science and learning more about their local waters.

I worked in a biogeochemistry water processing lab before joining Woodwell Climate, analyzing samples from across the U.S. to look for contaminants. For my M.S. in geochemical systems, I used remote sensing and ground methods to investigate how methane emissions are related to vegetation in Arctic lakes.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, rockhounding, rugby, and reading.
