I work with the Evolving Metaecosystems Institute (EVOME) on field research that investigates the resilience of Arctic organisms and ecosystems to rapid climate change.
My work involves deploying nets to catch Gambel’s White Crown Sparrows during their breeding season. I also collect blood samples for genomic data, and measure the birds’ physical characteristics to track trends in their body condition across different regions of Alaska. I bring years of outdoor experience and a deep passion for birds to my research.
After graduation I intend to earn a PhD and continue in academia. My biggest inspiration is my son Elias, who turned 11 this year.
