I assist the Development team by inputting data and running reports, shadowing team members to learn about how they create and sustain relationships with donors. Philanthropy is the foundation of Woodwell’s research, and is more important than ever as federal funding becomes less available for climate science.

I have worked for the Falmouth Road Race the past three years, where I’ve contributed to event planning, fundraising, and corporate sponsorships. I manage a portfolio of around 5 companies who contribute to make the race a fun and successful event.

I have lived in Falmouth my whole life, and grew up accompanying my grandfather to his job at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) for many years. I remember playing in the WHOI museum, admiring the ALVIN in the basement, and being in awe of all of the science and research that was constantly being produced and improved upon. The Falmouth school system immersed me in the Woods Hole science scene with field trips to museums, estuaries, and research vessels, but as I grew up, I realized that I’m not a scientist—I’m a salesperson! I want to make sure that what I sell betters the world, and supporting Woodwell’s groundbreaking work through fundraising and relationship-building is a great way to start. In the future, I would like to pursue a career in nonprofit development, particularly major gifts work.

Outside of work, I love to spend time on a boat out of Woods Hole in the summer, and to ski all over the country during the winter!
