I work with the Evolving Meta-Ecosystems Institute (EVOME), studying Arctic willows’ ability to adapt to change in riparian zones across a North-to-South gradient of Arctic Alaska.

I want to use research to better understand how ecosystems respond to environmental changes and disturbances, especially climate change. My interest in ecology was sparked and nurtured by my hometown of Portland, Oregon—from a young age, I hiked and backpacked in the mountains and forests there (and all over the world), falling in love with the outdoors.

I currently attend Macalester College, where I play varsity soccer and track and field. I also enjoy skiing and ice hockey.
