Woodwell @ London Climate Action Week

London Climate Action Week is a key moment in the global climate calendar—where climate action happens between COPs, where the UN Global Climate Action Agenda comes alive in cities and communities, and where the international climate community gathers to build the cooperation the formal process depends on.

Set at the midpoint of the diplomatic year — after the UN climate meetings in Bonn and before the world gathers at the UN General Assembly in September and annual climate COP in November — LCAW is where relationships form, coalitions build, and agendas are shaped.

Woodwell scientists and policy experts will be attending events at LCAW, and participating in an event on tropical forest finance.

Unlocking Pathways to Impact with TFFF Finance

June 23, 9-11am local time

The Conduit, 6 Langley St, London WC2H 9JA

Hosted by Barclays Capital, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Woodwell Climate

Tropical forests are often discussed as environmental assets. In reality, they are critical infrastructure stabilizing the climate across scales, protecting biodiversity, regulating rainfall, sustaining food systems, and underpinning economic and political stability across regions.

This event will demonstrate how innovative financing mechanisms and multi-stakeholder partnerships can drive sustainable impact while paving the way for a paradigm shift in forest finance. A panel discussion will highlight case studies from Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These examples will illustrate the unique propositions that the Tropical Forest Forever Fund (TFFF) and the Tropical Forest Investment Fund (TFIF) offer to the investment community to protect tropical forests and effectively manage the risks associated with forest loss. A diverse panel of experts will explore frameworks for accountability, transparency, and rigorous impact measurement that will enable investors to track the success of their contributions.
