Tropical forests are often discussed as environmental assets. In reality, they are critical infrastructure stabilizing the climate across scales, protecting biodiversity, regulating rainfall, sustaining food systems, and underpinning economic and political stability across regions.
This event demonstrated how innovative financing mechanisms and multi-stakeholder partnerships can drive sustainable impact while paving the way for a paradigm shift in forest finance. A panel discussion highlighted case studies from Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These examples illustrate the unique propositions that the Tropical Forest Forever Fund (TFFF) and the Tropical Forest Investment Fund (TFIF) offer to the investment community to protect tropical forests and effectively manage the risks associated with forest loss. A diverse panel of experts explored frameworks for accountability, transparency, and rigorous impact measurement that will enable investors to track the success of their contributions.
