Rory Keating

Rory Keating provides administrative support to the Grant and Contract Finance Director, helping to manage Woodwell Climate’s diverse portfolio of programs. He prepares financial reports, ensures compliance with all grant requirements, and assists with the management of grants, subawards, and project budgets.

Keating is passionate about conservation and climate change mitigation strategies that emphasize collaborative, just, and equitable solutions. He has spent over five years supporting conservation nonprofits, most recently on the US team of the DRC-based Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education (GRACE) Center. At GRACE, Keating played key roles in fundraising and development, communications, grant writing and reporting, and financial management.

Keating has seen firsthand the importance of a robust administrative support system for scientific and programmatic work, especially as organizations grow. He is motivated to provide exceptional support for staff and leadership across Woodwell Climate’s program areas so that they can focus on research and building relationships for collaboration.

Keating earned his B.A. in Creative Writing from Hamilton College. He has lived in Maine and in New York’s Adirondacks, and now lives back where he grew up in Central NY with his wife and several rescue pets (a dog and three cats).
