Naming Opportunities

Gifting options are available that connect you, a friend, or a loved one with Woodwell Climate Research Center’s relentless pursuit of science-driven solutions to our climate crisis. Your gift will be put to work advancing our mission to help people, communities, and nations curb and cope with the ever-escalating impacts of climate change.

Naming Opportunities that Support Our People and Programs

Named positions provide donors with the opportunity to sponsor a scientist, researcher, policy or operational director, or manager with outright support over a specified period. Preference for outright named positions is a commitment to the minimum giving level for three years, providing Woodwell with the ability to budget and plan for research and staff funding.

VP of Science or Policy & Government Relations $300,000 annually (minimum of 3 years)
Senior-level Scientist or Policy Director $250,000 annually (minimum of 3 years)
Early Career Scientist or Policy Expert $175,000 annually (minimum of 3 years)

For these endowed gifts, donor recognition and support for the position will continue in perpetuity. Such commitments are payable over five years.

President’s Chair $5,000,000
VP of Science or Policy & Government Relations $3,000,000
Senior-level Scientist or Policy Director $2,500,000

Launched in 2018, the Fund for Climate Solutions (FCS) is a center-wide, competitive grant program that catalyzes scientific innovations aimed at addressing climate change. The FCS has funded 79 projects to date and supports early-stage projects, enabling scientists to respond quickly to emerging opportunities and to build further on promising applied research pathways.

Name a Physical Space or Place

Woodwell relies on donor support for much of its facilities operations, including the renovation of the existing facility. Woodwell is pleased to recognize such vital support with the opportunity to name the buildings and spaces on our campus.
